The SLR McLaren is an exotic sports car jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Automotive, it was built in England. SLR stands for Sport Light Racing, paying homage to the 1955 300 SLR which served as inspiration. The 5.4L supercharged V8 power plant generates 650 hp to catapult this silver bullet from 0-60 in a flash 3.3 seconds. There were several limited edition variants including a roadster. 1954-1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gull-wing Coupe

The 300 SL was introduced in 1954 as the first iteration of the SL-Class (Sport Light), it was the fastest production car in its time.
